What to see Ladakh in Winter

Ladakh is a picture perfect destination and paradise for adventures and outdoor lovers. Most of the places within the region will be open, though some of the high passes are sensitive with the snow condition. Khardungla pass / Nubra Valley / Pangong Tso Lake / Alchi and Lamayuru Monastery / other monasteries around Leh / Leh city will be open to visit.

River Indus and Zanskar will be frozen in Jan to March and Trekking lovers love to have trekking on Indus and Zanskar called Chadar Trek.

Snow leopard can be sighted around deep villages in Ladakh. Animal and cat lovers come to see this beautiful animal in winter when high ranges of the Himalaya get full of snow and this cat come down around the village in search of food and domestic animal.

Following river Indus you may explore the Aryan valley to see the Aryan race. Some of the villages and its native considered as a pure Aryan race. Only Home stay might be available.

Visiting some of the monasteries you can witness the monastic culture and its practice. Some of the monasteries might get close and will be open in the prayer time only.
